This two-storey modern residence in central Christchurch replaces the family’s original home, which was damaged in the Canterbury earthquakes. Designed for comfort, resilience, and everyday living, the home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a separate laundry. The open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area connects to a library, creating a calm and considered space for both family life and retreat. Clad in bevel rusticated cedar weatherboards, the home is built with two layers of 215mm SIPs wall panels and an additional 50mm of insulation within the services cavity, along with two layers of 265mm SIPs roof panels and a further 90mm of insulation within the ceiling services cavity. The result is a modern family home that truly ticks all the boxes.
